An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Functional Skills (Maths/English).
This role involves a wide array of responsibilities supporting apprentices studying for their Maths and English functional skills qualifications. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students.
The ideal candidate will hold relevant teaching qualifications and have experience of teaching functional skills or GCSE Maths and/or English. They will be enthusiastic, adaptable and have a drive to provide excellent teaching. They will have experience working with learners of all abilities and excellent communication skills.
While applications from experienced lecturers are welcome, formal teaching experience is not necessary. We also look for individuals with a passion for their subject and a desire to share this with others. If you think that you can develop intellectual curiosity and create a love of learning, we would like to hear from you. Full training and support will be provided to those without formal teaching experience. This includes a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing support from an experienced Lecturer and the College will cover the cost of studying towards a recognised teaching qualification. To support its ambitious plans, the College is recruiting a College Accountant. The successful candidate will be play a key role in delivering the high quality financial services to the College and ensuring that all financial requirements are met. They will act as a deputy to the Director of Financial Services. This position will provide exposure to all aspects of finance and is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn and develop their skills and career.
Core responsibilities encompass overseeing month-end closures and associated financial accounting tasks (including pension and payroll management), alongside the preparation of monthly management accounts. Additionally, the role involves steering a newly instituted budget partner model, supervising a small team, and supporting internal and external audits.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with substantial experience of working in a finance environment, encompassing both financial and management accounting. Capel Manor College has an exciting opportunity for a Golf Greenkeeper/Sports Turf Trainer & Assessor to join our apprenticeship team.
We are looking for an industry professional with experience of golf greenkeeping or sports turf maintenance to work with our apprentices and their employers. The College offers a range of apprenticeships in Golf Greenkeeping and we now require an industry expert to support apprentices with topics such as presenting and maintaining sports surfaces, renovating and repairing sports surfaces, using and maintaining sports turf machines and equipment and monitoring and maintaining health and safety.
You will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and assessing Golf Greenkeeper/Sports Turf apprentices. You will prepare and deliver workshops, including the preparation of learning materials, conduct workplace visits and reviews and write progress reviews.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for greenkeeping and sports turf maintenance, be enthusiastic to share this with others and they will have the ability to inspire apprentices of all abilities. Ideally they will have contacts within the industry and a willingness to develop new apprenticeship opportunities amongst employers and help us realise our ambitious plans to become the leading provider of this programme nationwide.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing and communications strategies for the College and its subsidiary businesses across Greater London.
You will have experience of carrying out targeted marketing campaigns utilising the full marketing mix, across multiple channels, achieving an excellent ROI. It will be important for you to understand the needs of our market and develop key messages and propositions to increase engagement with our audiences.

Job Title: Garden Volunteer Supervisor
Salary: £24,804 to £28,733pa inclusive of London Weighting
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Garden Volunteer Supervisor to work at our Enfield Campus.
Capel Manor College in Enfield is a sprawling 30 acre estate which includes gardens, a holly maze, a fairy forest, a lake and a mini-zoo. The gardens are open to the public in the warmer months and the College also hosts a number of events throughout the year. The College is now looking for a Garden Volunteer Supervisor to be responsible for supervising students and volunteers working in the gardens to ensure excellent standards of garden maintenance and presentation. The post holder will oversee the work carried out by College students on work experience in the gardens and the work completed by volunteers groups to maintain the overall appearance of the gardens. The post holder will also develop a corporate volunteering scheme, a scheme to encourage businesses to use Capel Manor College for corporate volunteer days and attract corporate funding.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced gardener with excellent horticultural knowledge. They will have experience managing the workloads of diverse groups and ensuring that tasks are completed to the required standards. While experience working with students is not essential, they should be comfortable demonstrating gardening practices to learners. Excellent administration skills are required, as the post holder will be required to manage student and volunteer rotas, maintain the volunteer database and respond to all queries relating to volunteering in the gardens. The ability to develop effective working relationships with corporate clients is also essential.
This post will be 5 days a week including 1 weekend day; days will be discussed at interview. The typical hours for the post are:
1 October until 31 March
8.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Wednesday and 8.00am until 3.00pm Thursday to Sunday
1 April to 30 September
8.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am until 4.00pm Friday to Sunday
